Overnight

It looks at your garden while you sleep

Every night Vercro checks each garden against its postcode’s forecast, the stage each crop has reached and simple pest, disease and care rules for the crops you grow.

Every job carries a one-line reason. Tap Why today? for the full explanation of the rule behind the job. It’s included on Free.

Vercro Why today? sheet for Check for slugs and snails in the back garden and the allotment: mild, cloudy weather with rain on the way suits slugs and snails, September evenings are when they are most active, and this round covers the young lettuce and kale in the back garden and the onions and purple sprouting broccoli at the allotment.

Looked, all clear

Tell it what you found, and it remembers

Some jobs are a look rather than a task: a dusk check for slugs, a glance at the potatoes for blight. Say what you found and it’s recorded against that bed.

If you tell it something isn’t ready yet, it remembers that too, rather than asking you again tomorrow.

Vercro Today screen for a demo garden: the back garden's slug and snail check opens, with Looked round, no slugs or snails, Found some slugs, and Go plant by plant instead. Looked round, no slugs or snails is chosen and a receipt reads Checked the back garden. No slugs or snails seen, with Undo.

Caught up

When nothing needs doing, it says so

No streaks and no list of forty jobs to feel behind on. When the day’s jobs are done, Today says “You’re done for today”. Anything ready to pick stays there, as an option.

“Keeping me on track with jobs I need to do daily”

Michael, North-East
Vercro Today screen in its caught-up state for a demo garden: You're done for today, with an optional Pick what's ready card for Bed 2's runner beans and sweetcorn and the greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes, then Go and enjoy it.

Straight answers

What it doesn’t do

  • It doesn’t send push notifications at the moment. Open Today when it suits you. Email comes only when something in your garden is worth knowing, never more than twice a week.
  • Its jobs are only as good as what it knows. Crops with a sowing date and a bed give better timing than crops without.
  • Weather only shapes the jobs when your garden has a postcode.
  • The daily jobs are worked out overnight, not minute by minute.
