Refer a friend terms

Every Vercro member has a personal link (and an 8-character code) in the app, under Profile, Refer a friend. When someone joins Vercro through your link, or enters your code in their first 30 days, their account is linked to yours as a referral. When they set up their garden (section 3), you each get a year of Vercro Pro.

• Anyone with a Vercro account can share their link.
• The friend must be a new member: their account must be under 30 days old when it is linked to your referral, and it can be linked to only one referral.
• You can't refer yourself, including through a second account or another version of the same email address.
• People in the same household can refer each other. We don't block a referral just because you share a home, a network or a device.

Your friend has set up when, within 60 days of creating their account, they have a garden in Vercro with at least one crop, and have recorded at least one of these: a completed job, a check on a plant, or a pick (a harvest). Creating an account on its own does not count. We usually recognise it within a day.

You and your friend each get 365 days of Vercro Pro: everything Pro includes, as set out in section 3 of the Subscription Terms, for that time. It is a gift from us, not a subscription: nothing renews and nothing is charged when it ends. When it ends, you go back to Free, or to whatever plan you have then.

• If you are on Free, your year starts as soon as your friend has set up.
• If you already have Pro as a gift from us (for example an early-member year), your referral year starts when that gift ends. It never shortens or replaces it.
• If you earn more than one year, they run one after another, never at the same time.
• The app shows how long your free Pro runs, and any years you have saved.

We can't pause or discount a subscription you pay for through the App Store or Google Play, so we treat every paid subscription the same way, wherever you bought it. If you are paying for Pro when your year is earned, the year is saved and starts automatically when your paid subscription ends. To use it, turn off renewal in your subscription settings (the App Store, Google Play, or Manage subscription in Vercro on the web). You keep Pro to the end of the period you have paid for, and your free year follows straight on with nothing to pay. A saved year does not expire while your account is open.

• You get a year for each friend who sets up, up to 5 years in total from referrals.
• After that, friends you invite still get their own year; you don't get another.
• Each new member can bring a reward only once, even if they delete their account and join again.

Refer a friend is for inviting real people to use Vercro. We can refuse or withdraw a reward if it was earned by creating accounts that aren't real, by automated or bulk sign-ups, by self-referral, or through a mistake on our side. If we withdraw a reward we will tell you why, and you can ask us to look again by emailing hello@vercro.com. A friend's identity is never shown to you: the app shows only how many friends joined and set up.

A referral reward has no cash value. It can't be exchanged for money, sold or moved to another account.

We may change these terms or end Refer a friend. If we do, rewards already earned are honoured, and friends who joined before the change have the full 60 days to set up under the terms that applied when they joined. We will show the date of any change at the top of this page.
