Vercro

What has changed

Vercro keeps track of your garden so you do not have to

It knows what you are growing, where it is, what your weather has been doing and what you did last time. From that it works out what is worth doing next.

A good deal of that is new. If you met Vercro earlier in the year, this is what has changed since.

Free. Not a free trial. No card required.

Timed to where you are

Your frost dates, not a national calendar

Vercro used to work from one set of sowing months written for the whole country. That fits very few gardens well: within Britain the last spring frost spans nearly three months, and a plot in Cornwall and a plot in Aberdeenshire were being told the same thing.

It now reads long-run frost records for your area and applies them crop by crop. A courgette and a leek are no longer treated as though they want the same week, and the dates you are given for sowing, planting out and what still has time to finish move with your own ground.

Your beds

See the garden, not a list

Your beds are drawn. What is growing, what has finished and what is standing empty is one glance rather than a scroll, and a bed coming free is the most useful thing Vercro can tell you in a season.

Vercro Garden plan on a phone for a demo allotment: six beds and ten crops growing, with Now, This autumn and Next spring. Beds are drawn to a metres scale bar with their crops; Bed 1 carries an Out yet? prompt and other beds show when they free up.

Ask about your own garden

Questions, in plain English

Ask about a crop, a bed, a problem, or what to do next. The answer comes from your garden: your planting dates, your beds, your weather. Not a search result, and not general advice that might suit somebody three hundred miles away.

You can send a photo of a plant that looks wrong and it will have a look at it.

A plan that keeps up

Rebuilt overnight, so it stays true

Every night Vercro reads the forecast and where your crops have got to, and works out what actually matters. In the morning there are a few jobs, not a backlog, and each one can tell you why it is there.

Vercro Today screen for a demo garden on Tuesday 15 September: good morning, 14°C and cloudy, slugs and snails are the thing to watch tonight. A Tonight job to check for slugs and snails, best at dusk, with a Why today? link; the back garden and the allotment are each marked Looked, all clear in turn, and the morning summary changes to there's plenty ready to pick.

What actually worked

A record worth having next spring

What you sowed, when, where and how it did. By the end of a season that is a picture of your own garden, in your own soil, and next year gets planned against it rather than against an average.

Vercro Record screen for a demo garden: since March 2025 the garden has given 69 picks from 14 crops, with the latest entries, then What it gave: runner beans, tomatoes and courgettes with their picks and recorded weights.

What it costs

The useful part is free

Your beds, your plan, your frost dates, your record and the reasons behind every job are free, with no card and no trial that quietly ends. Pro raises the limits for people who grow across several sites or lean hard on the AI features. Most gardeners never need it.
